Federal ESSER Funding: District-Level Data Compilation

Between March 2020 and March 2021, Congress appropriated nearly $190 billion in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding for K–12 schools—the largest federal ever infusion provided to K-12 schools. In the first comprehensive accounting of these dollars, the R2L team used state ESSER data to track how much money school districts across the country received.
